Corvette Christmas

As some of you know Alan and I got a Corvette about 3 months ago and soon after joined the North Mississippi Corvette Club. We enjoy the people and the day trips that we take a few times a month to different places close by. This past Saturday the Corvette Club had a busy day; what with 2 Christmas parades, lunch, and our Christmas party that night.

It all started bright (well not so much bright because it was overcast) and early Saturday morning at the Reed's Tupelo Christmas Parade. Downtown Tupelo was packed with people ready for the parade and Santa Claus. We all decorated our cars and were having a great time. I haven't been in a parade since I was about 18 years old (surprisingly I rode in a Corvette for all of those years too) and enjoyed every minute of it. To see all of the peoples' faces (especially the children) light up when they see all of these cars and have them shout "Merry Christmas!" to you is a great feeling.

After the Tupelo parade Alan and I stopped by my work to see the Build Your Own Gingerbread House for a little while. All of the kids were enjoying themselves while building gingerbread houses and watching a Christmas movie.
The big gingerbread our chef, Joshua, and some volunteers built...isn't it GREAT!

We had lunch at Chili's with the Corvette Club and then got ready to go to Sherman for parade number two of the day.  Sherman's parade wasn't much but we still had fun!  It was such a beautiful day out with the temperature being in the mid 60's Alan and I decided to ride back to Tupelo with the top down...although chilly it was nice!

Once we got home I decided to go up to work and start decorating for the club's Christmas party, which was in one of our meeting rooms.  At 6:00pm everyone started to arrive and we mingled then had dinner, which was wonderful!  Some of the dance instructors from the Dance Studio in town came and showed us some dance moves and then had us try them.  Needless to say Alan and I aren't going to be signing up for ballroom dancing anytime soon...LOL!!  We ended the night playing Dirty Santa...not very dirty, but fun!

Alan and I have been in Tupelo for two years now and I can say without a doubt this was the best Tupelo Christmas yet!  Can't wait for 2011 to see what it brings!!
